Fourteen Stories,
Twelve Eggs,
Think of the fun!
|
On May 10, 1997 someone
got an idea. While looking out the window of his apartment,
situated 14 stories above the ground in a small city called
Seattle, something happened that would change his life: he
dropped a cookie. For the first few moments, he longed for
the taste of the chocolate morsels falling at a reliable 32
feet per second squared, less the resistance caused by the friction
between the air and the unexpected projectile, of course.
Only after the spinning cookie caught the light of a street
lamp did our hero have a vision, a revelation. "Cool." he
said to himself as the plan began to unfold itself before him.

The date was set for June
15, as the day the eggs would drop, but not break. Many were
interested, and many were busy. As the date approached, it
became apparent that none would be ready for the challenge.
At the dismay of all, the event would have to be postponed.
|
After one more
postponement (we're busy people, you know), the day would be
set for July 19, 1997. Once again, many would show interest,
but few would follow through. Meet the
Contenders.
