Post-Surgical Drugs
I was given three drugs when I was done with surgery:
Endocet 5/325 -- Pain Killer
Cefuroxime Axetil -- Antibiotic
Genasal -- Nasal Spray
Endocet 5/325
Endocet is a brand name for acetaminophen and oxycodone. Oxycodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics. It relieves pain. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of oxycodone. Together, these two are used to relieve moderate-to-severe pain.
I'm supposed to take 1-2 tablets every 3 hours as needed to relieve the pain. I have found this drug to be rather effective at killing the pain in my nose and will also make me a bit dreamy.
I have not found any side effects to this drug, so I guess it's doing what it is supposed to.

Cefuroxime Axetil
Cefuroxime is an antibiotic in a class of drugs called cephalosporins. Cefuroxime fights bacteria in the body.

Genasal
Similar to Afrin, oxymetazoline is a decongestant. It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in your body. The nasal formulation acts directly on the blood vessels in your nasal tissues.
I have not yet started using this nasal spray as my bandages just came off this morning and there is still a bit of nasal drip coming from my nose. Once this slows down, I will start spraying two squirts in each nostril, three times a day.
